Scene Food Blog
The Nashville Scene has a new food blog. Its logo looks like this:I'm sure local bloggers will be reminded of a long-time Nashville pop culture blogger, the biting, witty and charming Trashley, whose logo looks like this:
Now, one could accuse the Scene of ripping off Trashley, who has been around for a year, but we all know that the Scene doesn't acknowledge local blogs as worthwhile, much less being worth ripping off.

I'm guessing Trashley was the direct inspiration for the header and probably gave permission. She was a regular contributor to the Scene's NashvilleCream blog for a while.
Really?
The plot thickens.
No, I don't believe it has.
And Matt's information is supposed to make the Scene look better? What I call "the money" part of Knuck's observations is that the Scene typically cops a better-than-thou attitude toward local bloggers. Matt is indicating that Trashley is an exception. Why is she an exception? Because she's connected to the Scene. So, she's acceptable. The money quote still stands, rip-off or no rip-off: the Scene staff seems arrogant and snobbish when it comes to local bloggers not connected to the Scene.
Oh, there's thickness there.
A better question is if Trashley got permission from the Hilton's rights handlers and Hardee's. At least the Scene's shot is an original
A year is a long time? Awesome. I never recieved permission from Hardee's or Paris Hilton to use that image - I stole'd it, plain and simple. Or rather, had someone steal it for me because even as long-time blogger, I have no idea how to do any of that techy shit. I didn't even know The Scene HAD a food blog until I read this post, but that's okay if they want to STEAL the idea that I already STOLE.
I will also say I was never paid to contribute to Nashville Cream, it was all for fun.
The Scene Suks!
